Devere was a devoted and loving father who worked tirelessly to teach and serve his son. In 1953, Mr. Bigelow became executive director of the Washington State Hospital Association, a new position. John Schlesinger. They had one son, Mark, for whom no sacrifice was too great. He and Judy felt called into the ministry, and in 1970 they moved to Alaska, where he spent the next 40 years establishing churches with Baptist Mid-Missions.
